Community Groups

community group At the heart of the life of the church is a variety of small house groups that we call Community Groups. They meet at various times during the week in the homes of church members across a wide local area.

These faith-based groups are open to all and offer a mixture of Bible study, prayer and social times.

We encourage all our regular contacts to be part of a small group, even if they can’t go along regularly.

Current groups:

Monday

The Lover House Group led by Paul and Cherry Bromage

Downton Evening House group led by John and Beth Halski

Tuesday

Tuesday evening House Group led by Sue Avery and Nicky Head

Tuesday evening House Group (new) led by Renate James and Naomi Caldwell

Thursday

Downton Evening House Group led by Amanda Ivens-Smith

If you would like to join or lead a house group then please contact Philip Rhoades or Jerry Bugden.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello to DBC

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When?

We meet at our Church in South Lane, Downton, for our Sunday Service starting at 10.30 am. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team and Duty Stewards.

We serve tea, coffee and biscuits following our service.. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There is a disabled toilets.

Our Service

The Sunday Morning Worship service begins at 10.30 am with a warm welcome.
During the service there will be a time of sung worship, led by our band.  There will then follow readings from the bible and a talk about what we have heard.  There will be times of prayer.
Please ask if this is new for you and would like some support.

We are pleased to say we have a programme for our young people and everyone is welcome.

Children stay with their parent or grown-up at the start of the service for the welcome, songs and notices. We really value worshipping God all together as a family. At an appropriate moment,  the young people will be asked to go their various groups.  You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy.

Please pick your children up as soon as the service finishes.

Lots more going on
